BurlyHost.com, Inc. is a debt free, privately owned corporation with our main office based in northern California. Formed in 2006 and incorporated in January 2008, BurlyHost.com, Inc. is a collaboration effort by several known industry leading and respected systems administrators and developers whom strive to be a step above the competition. All employee's we hire are background checked and must retain several years in the web hosting industry with solid references before being hired, so you know your data is handled safely by professionals at all times.

Our own founder and CEO has over 17 years experience in the web hosting industry alone, and comes to us from several highly held positions with various known hosting corporations over the last decade, where he acted as senior systems administrator, project and development team leader, support management and team leader, and various positions in other key departments. He has been a technical reviewer for programming and system administration books published by O'Reilly and others. Additionally, he has found several security holes and bugs in major softwares and created security and bug patches for many of them as well. In fact, all of the corporate team members and management staff each have over a decade of experience with development, systems administration and support leadership positions and are excited to be a part of something where we share the same ideals and goals.

Our Features
We offer web hosting services ranging from personal sites, small businesses and corporations, to entertainment, interactive and e-commerce sites. We offer web site hosting services ranging from shared, reseller and VPS hosting plans, to semi-dedicated and dedicated server solutions, domain registration, SSL certificates, programming services, and various custom solutions. With our experienced staff we are able to offer the most secure, reliable and feature rich web hosting experience to our clients. We are not restricted by existing solutions and softwares, as we are able to create new and exciting elements with our in-house development team.

Our Mission Statement
The idea behind launching BurlyHost.com, Inc., is to offer a hosting experience that is based upon honesty, care and respect for our client base. We offer generous amounts of resources, but realistic limits and features. Instead of trying to just undersell the competition as the only incentive, our goal is to offer both quantity and quality under a low and fair priced plan structure. Unlike a lot of the competition simply grossly overselling their services and offering no real incentives, we want to build a "fan base", not just a client base. We work off of a real business model and want to earn our clients' respect and loyalty, and give them the security of knowing we'll be around for years to come.

Our Goals
Our goal is to always make it a pleasure for a client to do business with us, regardless of the circumstances. You are always welcome and encouraged to contact us for assistance with any services we offer, and to provide us with honest and open feedback. We aim to stand out above the competition by implementing sound policies in how we operate and what terms and conditions we outline in our terms of service and acceptable user agreements. We strive to earn your respect, loyalty and trust with your personal or business web site. Our entire business model and reason for launching this company, are designed around the idea that we will not be just another faceless company that only cares about the bottom dollar and treat our clients with the respect and honesty they deserve.

Our Offices
Work stations, servers and laptops in our offices all run Linux distributions and FreeBSD operating systems, as we feel these are the best performing, most stable, controllable and secure of the operating systems to use in an office environment. All systems use UPS backup power supplies. Backups are performed to safe local and remote storage and redundantly backed up onto DVD's with strong encryption that are stored in fireproof safes. We use both VoIP and landlines for backups on our business lines. We take the same care with the environment and servers where your sites and data are running, as outlined below.

Our Servers and Data Centers
We select only the highest quality data centers with the best network uptime, redundancy and speed to house our powerful servers. The Data Center we utilize is the fourth largest, with more than 500 employees, offering six wholly owned and managed state-of-the-art data centers (2 in Houston, TX, 4 in Dallas, TX) supporting more than 48,000 servers housed in 155,000 sq. ft. of raised floor space with 12,000 sq. ft. expansion capability. Offering fully redundant Network Operations Center capabilities in two cities (Dallas & Houston) with 24x7x365 monitoring, and one of the industry's fastest, most robust networks (100 gigabits/sec). We have used them pretty much exclusively over the last 6 (six) years and find them to offer the most reliable, quick, and professional data centers available. We do not sacrifice data center and network quality for the sake of saving a few dollars, and only put our trust in the most qualified and reputable data centers, and those performance benefits are passed down to our clients.

Our Environmental Stance
We understand there is a lot of talk and buzz about who is "green" and what truly qualifies as such. We try and be as environmentally conscious as we can. Our corporate office uses 100% HydroElectric generated power and, in fact, corporate officers all drive the Toyota Prius. Additionally, all local staff are provided with Cannondale road and mountain bikes to commute with. We also encourage and are happy to hire qualified technical support and systems administrators to telecommute to save unnecessary overhead and resources. Unlike some companies, we don't just hire staff because they are local regardless of their talent and experience, we'll hire anyone that is fully qualified regardless of location. This not only allows us to save energy and overhead, but also provides a work environment where staff are naturally more available, more often, and at different times of the 24 hour day.
